Brett is now bringing his vast experience training athletes at the high school and collegiate level, as well as his own experiences as a college athlete, to athletes of all shapes and sizes.

Brett has been the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Football at high school powerhouse McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, where he also coached defensive line for the Regional Championship-winning Yellow Jackets. While under his leadership in the weight room for the last five seasons, McGill-Toolen has reached new program heights including State championships with football and basketball, and numerous athletes offered college scholarships. The Yellow Jackets have earned a reputation as one of Alabama’s best trained and conditioned high school football teams under Brett’s guidance. Brett brings this experience to his Speed and Strength classes as well as his personal training clients at Personal Edge Fitness. 

Before arriving at Personal Edge Fitness, Brett was one of a  select group of collegiate players chosen to launch the football program at the University of South Alabama under the leadership of Head Coach Joey Jones and Defensive Coordinator Bill Clark. Brett played inside linebacker for the Jaguars and was a standout special teams player in 2009-2010. Brett is also credited with the first in season tackle by a Jaguar! 

Brett graduated from South Alabama with a B.S. degree in Exercise Science. He is Level 1 Certified by United States of America Weightlifting and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

Brett is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. He is a graduate of Chelsea High School, where he was a standout football player for the Hornets. He and his rescue dog “Odie” reside in Mobile.
